Create a terms-of-use page

You can create a "terms-of-use page" to communicate the usage conditions for your avatars and creations. Once published, it's available at thamit.app/your-id/terms and is also linked from your public page's footer.

Your terms page is visible only while your main page is published. If your main page is unpublished, the terms page won't be shown even if the terms themselves are published.

thamit's Terms builder is based on the item structure of the VN3 License, which is widely used in the VRChat community. However, thamit is not endorsed or supervised by VN3. Please review the final content at your own responsibility.

Two ways to create it

From the terms-building screen on the dashboard, you can create your terms in either of two ways:

Build from a template … Answer questions, and you get a set of terms with each item's permissions laid out.
Paste existing terms … If you already have terms written, paste them in and publish them as is.

Easy mode and detailed settings

The builder has two modes.

Easy mode … Just answer 9 questions, and the main items are set all at once.
Detailed settings … Configure each item one by one — personal use, modification, redistribution, streaming, derivative works, credit requirements, and more.

You can move back and forth between easy mode and the detailed settings. We recommend starting in easy mode, then fine-tuning only the parts you need in the detailed settings.

How to answer each item

For most items you choose from "Allowed," "Not allowed," "Contact required," or "Conditional." Any item set to "Conditional" must come with an explanatory note.

Some items have their own dedicated options, such as credit requirements and who may use the item (individual / corporate, commercial or not).

Icon summary

Your published terms page shows a row of icons and colored badges so each item's status is clear at a glance. Readers can tell what is and isn't allowed without reading through the fine print.

Special notes and a statement about AI

Special notes … Write anything you want to take precedence over every other condition.
Generative AI training … Add your policy on AI training, in your own words.

Styling your terms page (theme)

You can choose how your terms page looks in the Terms builder's appearance settings.

Use the same theme as your page … The terms page matches your main page's colors (changes here also apply to your main page).
Give the terms page its own theme … Keep your main page flashy while your terms stay in calm, readable colors — or any combination you like.

English display

When a visitor's display language is English, the standard clauses of your terms page are shown in English (free-text parts are shown as you wrote them). The English version is a reference translation for convenience — the Japanese version is authoritative, and a notice saying so is shown on the page automatically.

Version history

Your terms have versions, and past versions remain available at …/terms/v/<number>. Even after you update your terms, earlier versions can still be viewed — so there's no worry about losing track.
