Distributing and selling your own decorations
On thamit you can create icon decorations, and backgrounds, frames, and other images for the intro card and schedule card, from your own images. You are free to distribute or sell the materials you designed yourself, on BOOTH or anywhere else, for free or for a fee. You don't need to contact thamit or ask for permission, and thamit takes no fee.
What you can distribute or sell
- Icon decorations you drew yourself (transparent PNG)
- Background images and frame images you drew yourself for the intro card
- Background images, day box images, and frame images you drew yourself for the schedule card
- Bundles of these packaged for thamit
The rights to the materials belong to you, the creator (Article 5 of the Terms of Service). You decide the price and the terms of use.
What you can't do
- Distribute or sell the presets bundled with thamit (decorations such as the fried shrimp and angel, the ready-made day box images, the background presets) or anything derived from them
- Distribute or sell the alignment template images themselves (you're free to use the templates as a guide while drawing; hide the guide layer before exporting)
- Present your materials as official thamit assets or as endorsed by thamit
- Distribute or sell materials that infringe on the rights of others
Write your buyers' terms on thamit
When you sell materials, it helps to have terms of use that tell buyers how far they can go. With thamit's terms builder, answering nine questions gives you a terms page. Then just paste its URL (thamit.app/your-id/terms/terms-url) into your product description.
You can create up to 3 terms documents for free, or 20 with thamit Plus, so each product can have its own.
Recommended answers in easy mode (for decoration materials)
In the terms builder, choose "Add terms" and answer "Start with nine questions" like this. You can change any item later, so if in doubt, start with these.
- ① Who can use it, and how far? … "Individuals up to commercial use; corporations must contact first". Buyers who sell their own works can still use it.
- ② Uploading to VRChat etc. … "Allowed". Putting it on a thamit page is the whole point.
- ③ Sexual expression … Your call. If unsure, "Not allowed".
- ④ Violent expression and political or religious activities … "Not allowed".
- ⑤ Modification … "Allowed". Lets buyers adjust colors and size to fit their own icon.
- ⑥ Commissioned modification … "Allowed". Some people ask a friend to adjust it for them.
- ⑦ Streaming and videos … "Allowed". Pages can appear in streams and screenshots.
- ⑧ Derivative works … Your call.
- ⑨ Credit … "Optional (appreciated)". There's nowhere to put a credit on the decoration itself, so requiring one makes it hard to use.
Redistribution and transfer are fixed to "Not allowed". This forbids buyers from passing on the image file as is, or distributing an edited version. It's the most important item when selling materials, so leave it as it is.
Fields worth filling in too
- Target … Write the product name, such as "the icon decoration "◯◯" sold on BOOTH".
- Special notes X … The template wording is written for avatars, so put material-specific conditions here. For example, say whether the material may be used outside thamit ("may also be used as an icon on social media" or "for use on thamit pages only") so buyers aren't left guessing.
- Example credit … Such as "Icon decoration: ◯◯ (creator name)", so buyers can easily put it in their profile text.
- Recommended hashtags … Your product's tags make it easier to reach your product from buyers' posts.
- Policy when the terms are revised … "The terms at the time of purchase (acquisition) apply" gives buyers confidence.
- Contact URL … Your X profile, for example. A contact button appears on items you set to "contact required".
When writing your product page
- Feel free to name thamit as a supported service, such as "for thamit" or "thamit icon decoration". Please write it in lowercase: "thamit".
- If you use the logo, follow the logo guidelines.
- Paste the URL of the terms page you made above into your product description, so buyers can check the conditions any time.
- To help your buyers, we'd appreciate a link to these help pages (icon decorations, intro card, and schedule card) as usage instructions.
- Size guide: icon decorations are 1200×1200 transparent PNGs (up to 2MB); intro cards and schedule cards are 1600×900. All the templates are collected in Download all the creator templates.
If you bought materials
Follow the seller's product page and terms for how to use the materials and what is allowed. Please direct questions about the materials to the seller. thamit is not responsible for the content or sale of individual materials.
